Imaging with SAP®

SAP® provides the component ArchiveLink™ in all versions of SAP, which allows for documents, whether they are paper or electronic, to be linked to their equivalent document in SAP and stored as images, PDF files, etc.

To achieve the following standard SAP imaging solutions a certified ArchiveLink product like Gamma Technologies ArchiveBridge is required:
  • Automated storage and management of incoming documents based on WebFlow.

  • Automated linkage and storage of incoming documents using bar codes.

  • Ad hoc processing of incoming documents.

  • Storage of outgoing documents: If SmartForms based documents are printed, faxed, or e-mailed, these can be automatically stored and assigned to a business object.

  • Print lists (reports) can contain, for example, data selected from a database for later revision, and can stored either alongside the printed versions or instead of them. Examples of print lists are account update logs in finance, warehouse stock, and logs.

As shown above businesses deal with a number of different types of inward documents. These documents can all be processed into SAP and linked to the original documents. This reducing the storage of paper and the loss of important documents, which can then be readily accessed through SAP.

Ascend has a number of years experience in implement imaging solutions within SAP. The process of an imaging project is as follows:
  • Design
  • Implementation and Testing
